Elexity featured in Geekwire, new Battery Life Documentary Series
Elexity is featured in Episode 2, "The Intelligence Revolution," of The Battery Life — a new documentary series from the Pacific Northwest Battery Collaborative, published in GeekWire, that explores how the region is quietly becoming a hub for battery innovation.
The series pairs cinematic storytelling with real engineering: two pilot episodes take viewers inside the labs, startups, and boardrooms redefining energy storage across the Pacific Northwest. Episode 1, "The Materials Revolution," covers the chemistry breakthroughs behind next-generation batteries. "The Intelligence Revolution," was filmed in Portland, and shifts the focus from what batteries are made of to how they're controlled. The episode makes the case that hardware innovation alone isn't enough.
Software is the multiplier
The value of a battery is only as good as the intelligence deciding when to use it. Elexity appears in the episode demonstrating exactly that: our energy management software timing and balancing batteries, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Cooling), and EV chargers so commercial facilities get more value out of every asset they already have installed.
Our mission is to make energy management easy for commercial and industrial building operators. If customers are investing in assets like solar, why not make things like HVAC smart? Why not control loads in concert with investments like batteries... [to] make that an intelligent system.

A regional story, told well
The pilot episodes also feature Group14 Technologies, ZincFive, Emerald Battery Labs, the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds, and magniX — a lineup that reflects just how much of the country's energy storage innovation is happening in our backyard. We're proud to be part of that story, and grateful to Grayson Shor and Robert W. Cross for putting the series together and including Elexity in it.
The Battery Life is currently two pilot episodes, with the team behind it looking to expand into a full season. Organizations interested in sponsoring that next phase can reach out directly to the Pacific Northwest Battery Collaborative.
